Varukers "Led To The Slaughter" 7"

$6.00

Havoc Records

The Varukers underwent several lineup changes in 1983. With the exception of vocalist Rat, all who had played on 1983's "Bloodsuckers" LP and "Die For Your Government" 7" exited the band one by one. First Rat recruited bassist Mark "Brik" Briscoe and then followed it up with two members of Warwound (Damian Thompson and Andy Baker). With this new lineup, the Varukers instantly adopted a much harder, faster, and heavier sound. This sound would not only foreshadow the direction of the band moving forward, but the UK punk scene in general. The first release the band put out was the "Led To The Slaughter" 7" on Riot City Records in 1984. With three songs of pummeling thrash, the EP turned heads and served notice that the UK82 sound was over. Thrash was the new order of the day, and this EP is one of the best to come from the scene.
