Negative Insight is a magazine that focuses 1980s international, DIY hardcore punk.

Each issue is dedicated to covering a specific regional scene, presenting them in a way that pays homage to the legacy and greatness of the bands within that period. The magazine layouts are crafted using pre-digital era paste up techniques for a look that is heavily inspired by the aesthetic of 1980s hardcore classics.  

To go with the physical publication, our website features many articles, interviews, photo exposés and more. We strive to consistently present new content. The objective of these features is to highlight the lesser-known stories about the bands, albums and music whose narrative is otherwise well documented.

Our main scope of coverage is 1980-1990 international hardcore, punk, anarcho, crust, and similar styles, however, we also occasionally branch out to include post punk, goth, industrial, noise, indie, synth, and whatever else we deem relevant. 

Collaborations, Contributions and Submissions

If you or anyone you know are interested in contributing (writing, submitting photos, or other) please get in touch. No experience is necessary. Enthusiasm a must.
