Anxiety "Pathetic" 12" digital release on bandcamp (Boston punk)
Anxiety - "Pathetic" 12" (SNR-012, 2009)

Nine songs of scalding, driving thrash drenched in pessimism and cynicism with a perfectly raw recording quality. One could cite many bands from the mid-'80s into the early '90s as an influence, including Septic Death, Siege, and the like. The blueprint for this was Rupture's "Righteous Fuck" 7" from 1991, but it also reminds me of the Voorhees "What You See Is What You Get" 7". In the years since it first came out, it has turned into a bit of a cult banger, best known as the project that preceded Boston Strangler. But it stands on its own merit.
