A Network Of Friends vol. 5 (Negative Insight mini issue ft. Napalm Death)
We are pleased to announce the newest installment of Negative Insight is now out. This mini-issue features a comprehensive interview with Jim Whiteley, best known as the bass player and lyricist on the B-side of Napalm Death's seminal "Scum" album. The interview delves into the ins and outs of the early days of Napalm and features many little known details about the band. It also features photos by Nicolas Royles, which he kindly gave permission to use. The pages are laid out in a style that harkens back to the mid to late '80s UK hardcore scene and pay homage to A5 sized zines of the era like Final Curtain, Raising Hell, Obituary, and other cut 'n paste masters.
The issue is included within the A Network Of Friends vol. 5 omnibus, which features pages from other zines such as A Blast From The Past (UK), Bootlegs Of Filth (Australia), Crisispoint (UK), Gadgie (UK), Initonit (UK), and Vermynoze Putrida (Brazil). All of these zines are done DIY hardcore punks and cover a wide variety of international punk. These pages cover bands like The Subhumans (UK), Icons of Filth, Autonomia, and many more.
In the true spirit of DIY, we have chosen to distribute the zine free of charge in two ways. The first is a digital copy of the zine which can be read on our website or it can be received through email as a PDF (message us here with your email address stating you'd like a copy). The second way is to message us directly with your email, and we will send you the printer's version of the zine (including bleed lines), which you can print out for yourself, or if you are a distro you can print out as many copies as you would like to sell. All we ask is that you please keep the pricing with a fair mark up based on your costs. We enthusiastically consider this to be a public domain release, and we strongly encourage it to be reproduced and sold in as many ways as possible.
